Also to benefit clients, our website contains legal updates through a complimentary e-mail news service, articles, descriptions of our practice areas and lawyers, press releases, and other items of interest. The site also outlines our upcoming conferences and seminars relating to labor and employment, employee benefits, products litigation, 501(c)3 issues, and other areas. McGuireWoods has a tradition of attracting, mentoring, training and retaining legal talent from a variety of backgrounds. In recognition of this commitment, we have been named the inaugural recipient of International Paper's Lighthouse Award, an award presented to International Paper's legal department supplier who by example and leadership has distinguished itself in the area of diversity. We have also been awarded the prestigious Minority Corporate Counsel Association's Thomas L. Sager Award for our commitment to the hiring, retention and promotion of ethnic minority lawyers. The MCCA is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization committed to fostering diversity in the legal profession.
